UiTM vice chancellor Tan Sri Prof Dr Ibrahim Abu Shah said the move was to elevate its status as a prominent research university.
Currently, UiTM is ranked fifth among research universities and the focus of UiTM now is to focus on innovative entrepreneur research.
"Today, we signed an MoU with Perfect Triangle Sdn Bhd to produce and market additives for automobile engines and gearbox under the "Perfect-T" brand," he said at the ceremony witnessed by Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir.
He added that UiTM also signed an MoU with Halagel Sdn Bhd to produce and market nutraceutical and cosmeceutical products for commercial purposes through research conducted by UiTM's Faculty of Pharmacy.
The third MoU was sealed between UiTM and Multi Cipta Engineering Sdn Bhd to produce and market products like soap and grease made from palm oil residue.
A Letter of Collaboration was also signed with Royal Lintah Park, to offer expertise through seminars, for the cultivation of leech for commercial use.
